Material Guidelines
SIZE
- Document at 1:1 scale (100%) if possible; if necessary, scale down to 50%, 25%, etc.
- If possible, convert fonts to outlines (convert text) or include the font folder.
BLEED
- Bleed must always be included in the files.
- For roll-ups: 5 mm bleed, plus an additional 200 mm at the bottom for mounting.
RESOLUTION
- Digital and offset printing: 200–300 dpi
- Large format images: 72–150 dpi
- Logos and other graphics: Use scalable vector graphics, e.g., PDF, EPS, or AI files. Note: All fonts must be converted to outlines, and colors should be in Pantone or CMYK values.
COLORS
- Profiles we use: Fogra39 and AdobeRGB.
- In Adobe applications, use Europe Prepress 3 for color management settings.
- In four-color printing, colors must be in process colors (CMYK).
DIE-CUTTING / SHAPED CUTS
- Die-cut and cutting lines must be defined in Magenta SPOT color and set to overprint (M100, overprint on).
- Cutting lines must consist of a single continuous line, not multiple lines.
- If possible, provide files both with and without the die line.
- Minimum thickness of the shaped area varies depending on the case.
FILE TYPES
NATIVE FORMAT
- Fonts converted to outlines or include the font folder.
- Do not embed images in working files; provide images as linked files in a separate folder.
- Acceptable image formats: TIFF, EPS, PSD, or JPG.
- Include ICC profiles for images; default CMYK (ISOCoated FOGRA39) and RGB (Adobe RGB).
- Pantone colors may be used as reference in four-color work.
- Include a PDF proof with the file package.
- Follow general guidelines otherwise.
- Include cutting marks in the PDF, with the bleed of 5 mm or 10 mm.
- Content should be centered on the sheet.
- Fonts must be embedded in the PDF.
- All pages within the same PDF must be the same size and orientation.
